People tell me things like: no one will like your tattoos. They tell it like it is a bad thing. To me it is a good thing. To me tattoos are about being unapologetically yourself.
I know no one will like my tattoos as much as I like them, but they are not there to please others. They are there to please me. Tattoos are an act of choosing yourself and committing to it. And choosing your own pleasure in a world where women are socialized to please others. To me tattoos say: I am not here to be pleasing to others I am here to be whatever the hell I want. I feel empowered by it.

Tattoos are also about making a choice about your own body in a world where there are some restrictions on female body choice. I feel empowered by it.
Tattoos are also art. Where I am the curator and choose what to display and how. I am empowered by it.
Tattoos are a commitment in a changing world where commitment is scary. I am empowered by it.
Tattoos remind you of the past versions of yourself and encourage you to love and accept them as opposed to trying to move on from them. I am empowered by it.
What is your relationship with tattoos?
On the picture above I am wearing Lily Bra by Fleur du Mal.
