Sometimes I like to read beautiful things that I don’t quite understand. Malevich Suprematism book from 1920 is just like that for me.
At one point he writes: “put an end to the world of books and to replace it by experience, action, through which everyone will take part in universal creation”. I love this dream. The idea of universal creation as experience accessible outside of a book or a museum. To me his mission is rooted in accessibility. Yet, Malevich’s art could be so difficult to appreciate to people without an extensive knowledge or exposure to art and philosophy.

He further continues with “There is no longer a question of painting in Suprematism. Painting has long been overcome and the painter himself is a prejudice of the past”. I do not know if I understand. And what I do understand I don’t necessarily agree with. But disagreeing sometimes helps one understand their own beliefs better.
And I inevitably put painting of Malevich on my wall.

Do you like the art of Malevich? Do his theories appeal to you?
